Norteños (Spanish: for Northerners), or Norteñas for females, is a coalition of Mexican street gangs who pay tribute to Nuestra Familia (Our Family). Norteños identify with the color red; the number 14 ("XIV/ X4), which signifies N, the 14th letter of the alphabet; and the huelga bird.

On February 3, 2023, two alleged Norteño gang members, Noah David Beard and Angel "Nanu" Uriarte, were arrested for the January 16, 2023, murders of six people in Goshen, California. Among the six victims were a 16-year-old mother, Alissa Parraz, and her 10-month-old baby, Nycholas Parraz, both reportedly shot in the head.

Clanton 14 was created in 1921 on Clanton Street in Los Angeles, California. During World War II Los Angeles renamed Clanton Street to 14th Street, which is why they are called Clanton 14. In 1942, member Frank Torres was shot by a member of the First Street Gang at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during a city high school track meet.
