2019年3月13日 · While I'm thinking about it, keep in mind a 14.5" pinned and welded with a 1.5" extension may not be as light as a 16" barrel with a smaller (or no) extension. You'd have to do the math and see if the extra 1.5" of barrel is lighter than the pin, the weld, and the extra length on the extension to reach 16".

2020年4月26日 · Thanks "willi" that info is helpful. I have been looking on the BCM site and comparing the 14.5 and the 16" both Recce, w/MCMR. The 14.5 weighs in at 6 lbs and the 16 weighs 6.1 lbs or a 1.6 oz difference between the two. Doesn't appear to be any significant weight savings. You mention that the military M4 rifle uses the 14.5 barrel.

2021年1月3日 · I have 2 factory built 14.5 uppers that I did the P/W. DSA and DD. Both excellent. I have built 4-5 uppers using a variety of parts including, PSA, Rainier, Anderson, BCM and Colt. I even use UTG handguards on a few. All of mine have been trouble free and good shooters.

2021年1月14日 · Mine is a Kac 16inch cut down to 14.5 with pinned surefire I bought a kahles for it a long time ago, k1-6 with the discontinued SM2 reticle In general I prefer a mil based reticle and don't get lost with it. Just have to take the time to memorize the reticle and practice with it. Used to run a vortex 1-6 w/ the jm-1 bdc

2023年8月9日 · According to Bravo Company, this barrel has a stripped weight of 1 pound, 5 ounces. For comparison, a Colt 14.5” M4 barrel has a stripped weight of 1 pound, 9 ounces. BCM 14.5” ELW Colt 14.5” M4 barrel. (not stripped) I purchased this barrel as part of a BCM factory assembled upper receiver group with the MCMR 13” free-float hand guard.

2015年7月4日 · Ive got three sbr ar lowers and two other stamps for other things and currently 11.5 and 14.5, and I really wanted a 10.3 and a 12.5 at the time too. In retrospect with the 556 I just wish I had a 13 ish barrel and a flamming pig or barking spider pinned to 16.

2022年4月11日 · 14.5” will give you a bit more rail space. 12.5” is more compact. 12.5” is overlooked and is a great option, but 14.5” is awesome as a general purpose AR and can be pinned to 16” to avoid barrel-length related BS. Get both.

2015年1月20日 · If you're wanting the 14.5" barrel, you'd be joining the mini-recce club. I have a 1-4x optic on an 18" gamer gun, a 1-4x on my 14.7" mini-recce, and am wanting to build an 18" SPR with that 2.5-10x or other mid- to high-powered scope.

Super accurate and handy 14.5 - HD rifle with aimpoint micro 18 - SPR for long range steel As you can see, I keep going back to 14.5s. I just love the proportions and handling. For real hunting distances, I don't think a 14.5 gives up anything to a 16.
