XN the code, stamped on when they weld the spider section to the rim, XN indicates the offset/and or backspacing and type of spider section, ralley or standard. Lots of codes with the 14x6 JK. Just indicates the rim size.

Dec 5, 2011 · Looking for some steel rims for disc brakes and 66 dog dish caps. I have done a few searches it looks like there might be some options. First I do have an original set of steel 14x6 rims with the 1.00 offset that came with the 66 drum brakes. Seems there are opinions both ways as to weather...

Apr 4, 2011 · 1. The 65s used 14x5 wheels except for the special 14x6 used on the Z16. H.D. Suspension or wagons still used the 14x5. 2. ? 3. The 14x6 SS396 wheels (or any other Chevelle that came from the factory with F70-14 tires) were the same from 1966 through 1968. The disk brake cars used a different wheel with different clearance for the 4-piston calipers

Jun 23, 2014 · I may have inadvertently clouded the issue. The DG code is stamped by the tire valve on a 67 SS396 rally wheel, the 'all others' rally wheel will have DA stamped there. The 14x6 JJ (DG coded) and 14x5 JJ (DA coded) is stamped inside the wheel.

Jul 11, 2005 · Stamped on the inside of the rim is 14x6 JK and beneath that a 64 and a 2. No other stamping or logos are apparent. On the other rim the number 6 is stamped by the valve stem. And the letters GM with 65 below that stamped on the spider section. Stamped on the inside of the rim is 14X6.00 JK below that the number 65 and the number 1 is stamped.

Oct 5, 2006 · Have a set of ralley 14x6 JJ, code YW, from July of 69, that have an offset of .88 which converts to a backspace of 4 3/8" on my 66. Currently P225 70r14 tires with no problems.The 66 backspace was 4 1/2"; this changed to 4 3/8" in 67 for chevelles with disc brackes. Think 4 3/8" was used with most 14x6 chevelle rims in 69.
