The Great Western Railway (GWR) 1500 Class is a class of 0-6-0 pannier tank steam locomotive. Despite being a GWR Hawksworth design, all ten (nos 1500–1509) were completed under the administration of the Western Region of British Railways in 1949, just after Nationalisation.

The '1500' class of heavy shunter was an unusual design for the Great Western as it was fitted with outside cylinders, Walschaerts valve gear and no running platform. In addition, most of the separate parts were welded instead of riveted together.

We have chosen the 15xx Class as our first fully machined, bolt-together, kit model. It is a substantial tank engine with two outside cylinders and Walschaerts valve gear. The kit is divided into 6 sub-kits, delivered together.
