After a while of listening, I thought, that the bass is a little "thin". Looking at the bode-plot I discovered the following: What are your suggestions to improve the output?

This is all about finesse, as the power output of this tube is only 3/4 of a watt! This is built on a hammertone-finished steel chassis, and features volume control and headphone jack.

2014年1月10日 · I have four 1626s hanging around and I need a new project. I don't have any need for a preamp, so it appears my only option is a Darling amp. My power requirements are not very high since I listen quietly in a small apartment. But, is it worth the effort to go with a double Darling? Is it further worth the effort to DC couple the two stages?

2014年12月29日 · Been thinking about building a " Darling" 1626 Tube Amplifier for some time now. I've seen several schematics that are floating around the net, looks simple and straight forward. Just wondering if anyone out there had some advice or if you had built one yourself, perhaps you can share your schematic or pointers?

This is a Single Ended triode audio amplifier using two parallel connected 1626 triodes per channel. The driver tubes are 6SN7s. All tubes are run in class-A. Output is only about 2 watts per channel.

2021年1月1日 · The Darling amp was my first choice because of the budget considerations, but ultimately I built a simple 2A3 design instead. I didn't have any regrets doing so. The potential problem is that you'll find yourself wanting to go "a step up" in quality for everything, and those relatively minor costs will add up quickly.

Here is an interesting little amplifier, a 1626 “Darling” amp built as a parallel single ended configuration for twice the power, bringing the Darling sound up to a whopping 1.5 watts per channel. On par sound-wise with the 45, 46 and Type 10, this little amp has its own flavor of triode and sounds very good.
