During World War 1 a man noticed how burnt the toast was so he decided he would invent something to better suit the people. On May 29, 1919 the first pop-up toaster was created, Charles P. Strite was the first to invent an automatic pop-up. His invention included the springs and the timer to tell when the toast was done.
