An armoured personnel carrier (APC) is a broad type of armoured military vehicle designed to transport personnel and equipment in combat zones. Since World War I, APCs have become a very common piece of military equipment around the world.

In 1945, the US Army already had the experience of armoured personal carrier, thanks to the uniquitous and modular M2/M3 White Halfrack family of vehicles. However its mixed nature (it was not fully tracked) and only light flat armour offered little protection.

CD194, also known as C-C Chemokine Receptor 4 (CCR4) is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family, a large family characterized by seven transmembrane alpha helical domains. The ligands for CCR4 are CCL17 (TARC) and CCL22 (MDC), which direct the migration of target cells.
