2020年5月26日 · We are aware that the 1963 Corvette transitioned from the AM Wonderbar Radio, to the AM-FM Radio. The changeover time seems to have started approximately late February/early March... but it was a slow transition, as orders already accepted, now had the option to 'upgrade' their radio.

The 1963-64 Chrysler AM-FM radios were produced by Delco, and were the first factory radios offered by Chrysler with the FM band. The FM band was monaural on these radios. FM multiplex stereo broadcasting was introduced in 1961, but stereo FM was not offered on Chrysler radios until later in the 1960's as car radio receiver technology advanced.

2020年6月18日 · It appears 9,178 or 42.66% were equipped with the U69 AM-FM Radio for $174.35. The earliest 63 with an AM/FM Radio is 9XXX. It's a February car. It's been inspected every way it can be and the radio has been accepted as factory installed. How would a am/fm installation be different then a AM? There's a slider switch on left side of radio.

Therefore, when submitting future Corvettes orders to the Zone Office, please indicate your decision opposite the word "Radio" by using the words "AM ONLY" or "EITHER AM OR AM-FM". It is most important that Corvette orders be properly indicated to assure the correct radio to be built on a given order. We solicit your cooperation in this matter.

2019年12月11日 · Corvette radios: 1953 to mid-model year 1963 had signal seeking AM only radios. by mid 1963 production, the only Corvette radio came with AM and FM (which no longer signal seeked). all 1953-55 corvettes were equipped with a radio as part of base price. by 1956, one could delete the radio and this practice occurred till last C-1 was built in 1962...
