Sep 9, 2021 · FYI, the 1967 Shelby GT 500 came with a 428 Police Interceptor and not a 427. I'm aware of a few Shelby cars which had the 428 swapped for a 427 at the dealer. And even that would not make it a "Shelby motor". You could order a 427 through the parts department at a Ford dealer back then.
