Entering the 1970s, WBZ moved itself back from Top-40 to a more adult-contemporary sound, and increased its news coverage. The station had introduced a call-in sports talk show, “Calling All Sports” with Guy Mainella, in the summer of 1969, and sports coverage was an important part of the broadcast day as well.
