2014年3月4日 · Measure off-spec valve clearance, enter value. Measure current shim, enter value. New shim value that will bring your clearance within spec will calculate in last row. Replace shim with new shim indicated. I used a tablet. My friend who's helping with this rebuild took all the measurements while I keyed the values into the spreadsheet.

2010年5月31日 · I am (trying) adjusting valves on a 1FZ. Using the factory valve shim tool I still cant get the little bastards out. I can depress the valve spring and insert the tool to keep it depressed. With a little work I can pop the shim up. A few times I can even get it to move around.

2010年5月31日 · If you were a machine shop, and you were rebuilding 1FZ-FE engines regularly, it would pay to make up shims in the thickest size, harden them and set them aside to grind to thickness as needed. If you only have one engine, this obviously isn't practical.
