2021年8月4日 · I recently applied to retrain, my number one was 1N8. I read a lot about this afsc and it seems like an exciting job. If anyone is a 1N8 or works with them I'd love to get your view on day to day life and enjoyment in your job. I got told today that 1N8s 80% of the bases they get they just chill in an office and do nothing and im really hoping that's not the case. Thank you!

2023年6月30日 · (Quick last note) The majority of people who become 1N8 are the rowdy and loud type of people. We don’t really meet that Intel stereotype where it’s super nerdy-ish type stuff. I’d say if your coming into this AFSC you have to be confident in your abilities and can’t let others pull you down.

1N8 has a problem with career progression, they keep sending 3 levels to unit billets. It's not the brightest move, they usually lack 1N8 top-cover and often work for 1N0s that don't know what to do.

2022年7月16日 · AFSC is just one component. Experience, location, certifications, education, etc. also factor into a salary so it wouldn’t be fair more me to rank them. I’d be splitting hairs. In general, on average in my opinion, one could be looking at $70K-$100K for stateside jobs, $80K-$110K+ for overseas jobs and $130K+ for deployed jobs.

Looking to cross train into 1N8 but I can’t find a list of bases anywhere! Anyone got their list or know of where they can go?

The October 2021 AFECD has been released with updates to ASVAB scores (found on MyPers). It officially takes effect 31 October (2 weeks from yesterday), but pretty much any jobs booked from here on out is going to fall into those requirements (previously booked AFSCs are usually grandfathered if the score is raised).
