May 22, 2013 · I'm looking at this 2009 Volvo v50 in Dallas, and my only concern is that it has nearly 100k miles on it. As an ex-VW owner, I see the 100k mi mark almost as a tombstone. My 2001 Jetta was great for 30k, ok until 60k, iffy until 100k, and then it just fell apart. I am now driving a 2004 Mazda 3s Hatchback with 80k and no problems.

May 1, 2015 · I'm shopping used Volvo Wagons, trying to stay under $15,000 but could stretch a little if necessary. Some options are much lower, I'm finding 2006 V50s in the $7k range, 2009 V50s in the $10k-16k price range. I'm looking mostly at the V50, but also peaking at V70.

Feb 24, 2022 · That being said, some advice: Save a bit more and buy a 'fresher' Volvo if possible. It reduces risk of (expensive) repairs, increases driving experience. It still can be from 2004, just with less miles. You'll be able to buy a Volvo for €3500 with 250.000km, which is fine if you play by the stated above.

Dec 29, 2020 · The problem with the S40/V50 is that it’s lipstick on a lesser platform. It’s way nicer than a Ford/Mazda, but it isn’t up to the same level as a normal Volvo. They don’t age well, mechanically, either. I had an S40 and loved it. But it’s hard to recommend one in good conscious, honestly.
