Before purchasing my M3LR i was also looking into a 2018 m3. My reasoning for going w the m3lr is parts. I’m a big gear head and if I went w the m3 I know I would have dug a large hole purchasing aftermarket parts. There’s a huge market offering all kinds of parts for bmws, specifically M3s, and they all would be taking my money right now.

May 6, 2021 · I’ve got an opportunity to pick up a 2018 M3 (manual) for a great deal. Only has around 11k miles on it. I’m curious about long term reliability on these cars, however. I don’t seem to see too many with 130k+ miles. Are there things I need to watch out for? Reliability mods I should consider right out of the gate?

Aug 10, 2022 · 2018 m3 awd. Mine shows 270 at 100%, I want to try to recalibrate the BMS as well and drive it to 9% and charged to 100% once. So far no change, will do it one more time then just give it up as to not hurt the battery further.

Pros: At $35k, the price seems fair for that mileage based on market values. Good deal for an M3. The S55 twin-turbo inline 6 engine in the F80 M3 is relatively robust and reliable for a high-performance engine when properly maintained.

The M3 CS starts at $100k USD, so if you want a fantastic track tool, you need 4 doors, you love BMW M, and you have a hard-on soft spot for limited edition cars, it might be great for you. Otherwise, it's the same price as the crazy new M5, same as the AMG E63 S, and quite a bit more than a CTS-V, all of which are quicker, more spacious, etc.
