What is the difference between 208V vs 240V single phase
2015年11月22日 · A separately derived 208 volt source with center tap will have 104 volts from each end to the center tap. A buck boost transformer will be 120 volts to ground on one leg and the voltage to ground will be 120 plus or minus however much change in voltage was made (exception would be if one input was the high leg of a high leg delta system).
What is the difference between 208 and 240?
2007年2月25日 · Ok, I guess I openned a can of worms. Residential 120/240 is derived from a single leg of three phase power. 120/208 is derived from two legs of three phase power. From the pics (Nova's), it seems that the delta could essentially carry 120/208/240, with the 208 from L2 to Grn. The Wye system looks like it won't achieve anything past 208V.
What is the difference between 208 volt and 220 volt power?
2024年5月28日 · The main difference between 208 volt and 220 volt power is the voltage level. 208 volts is typically a three-phase power supply commonly used in commercial buildings, while 220 volts is a single ...

2014年6月27日 · With a 120/208 WYE you will have 208 volts A/B, A/C, B/C, and 120 volts A,B,C to neutral With a 120/240 volt 4-wire delta also known as a high leg delta, You will have 240 volts A/B, A/C, B/C and 120 volts A&C to neutral, but 208 volts B to neutral, B would not be used for line to neutral loads, it would only be used for line to line loads, either 3-phase or single phase …
Can you hook up 208 volts on a 230 volt motor? - Answers
2024年6月25日 · Yes, a 230 volt electric motor can run on 208 volts. The horsepower will be lowered by .9 or to 90% of the nameplate rating. e.g. A 230 volt 10 HP motor will only produce 9 HP at 208 volts.

2012年6月21日 · A 12KW, 208 volt appliance will use more amps than a 12KW 240 volt appliance. A 12KW 240 volt appliance connected to a 208 volt supply will use less amps. In practice the reduction in average actual amps used by a real world cooking appliance may less than expected by reducing the supply voltage from 240 volts to 208.

2010年4月5日 · I come up with 3200 VA @ 208 volts = 15.4 amps. If 3200 VA @ 208 is balanced across 3 phases = 8.9 amps. If you have 10 of these you can balance 9 of them: 9x3200/208/1.732 = 79.9 amps plus one more unit drawing 15.4 across two phases you pick which two you want unbalanced.
difference between voltage. (ex: 208/220/240/277)
2007年1月9日 · The voltage itself, e.g. 250, 277, 220, 240, 208, etc. is inconsequential because it is possible to derive any voltage you want, simply by utilizing the proper transformation (transformer). The transformer connection will dictate whether a neutral is …
How common is 120/208 for residential? | Information by Electrical ...
2009年10月14日 · 240 volt appliances are probably more common than 208. Many appliances are listed for either voltage, but would give less output on 208. AFAIK no one makes a residential water heater for 208 volts, a 240 volt unit will work ok but will take appreciably longer to heat the tank of water. Likewise an oven will take longer to heat up at the lower ...
