TCOLE has two categories to report training: General Courses and Specific Courses. Is your Department conducting a course for continuing education hours and you want to get the word out? Just a reminder: A course cannot be advertised as “TCOLE approved” or “TCOLE certified.” Instead simply say that this course is eligible for TCOLE credit hours.

We offer courses eligible for TCOLE credit that can be used to complete the 40 hours of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement annual education requirements.

This class is designed to certify an individual to be a statewide resource as a mental health officer (MHO), per Texas Occupations Code 1701.404, and the TCOLE Rule §221.11.

TCOLE Test provides a selection of practice tests covering a variety of subjects to assist with your studies for one of the several certification exams required by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Certifications covered within include Basic Corrections Officer, Basic Peace Officer, and the Law Enforcement Promotional Exam.

STATE LAW AND COMMISSION RULES REQUIRE THAT A MEDICAL EXAMINATION BE PERFORMED BY A PHYSICIAN LICENSED IN TEXAS. TCOLE POLICY ALLOWS A PHYSICIAN'S ASSISTANT OR A NURSE PRACTITIONER LICENSED IN TEXAS AND WORKING UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PHYSICIAN LICENSED IN TEXAS TO PERFORM THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION.
