2024年12月8日 · The .243 was developed as a hunting cartridge with 80-100 grain bullets out of a 1:10 twist barrel at 3000-3200 fps. The 6BR was designed from the outset as a benchrest cartridge with slightly lower velocities. As Spife said, the 6BR is more efficient, getting a 90-grain bullet to ~3000 fps with far less powder than the .243.

2018年2月13日 · The 6mm Comp match is a good direction to look if you're going to feed out of a magazine. You get the shoulder pushed forward at 31 degrees instead of 40 so not quite the same internal volume, but the 6 comp match maintains the .243 winchester body taper and feeds pretty slick out of AI style mags.

2012年8月24日 · I chose a no turn neck 6mm-284 and supplied a dummy round with a specific OAL so I could use it in a Wyatt's mag box. I agree with Outlaw that the larger 6mm cases work better with the heavier bullets. While I have a 20 lb monster in 6mm-284 that is twisted for 105 Bergers @ 3475 fps I also have two sporter weight 6mm-284 that use Rem 243 takeoffs.

2013年1月28日 · Agree, with everyone touting, the .243 Win., as lots of Ammo available, EVERYWHERE ! Then, as stated by snox (post #3) you can go to .243 Ack or better yet, the 6mm SLR.

2011年3月25日 · I don't have any experience with a .243 AI, but my cousin has a 6mm Remington built on a Remington 700 long action with a 26.5" Shilen Match 1-8 twist barrel that he bought off a shooting buddy. He pushes 105-107s at 3150fps with H1000. He took a deer with it at 600yds this year and it dropped it dead in its tracks.

2008年4月24日 · I have a 6mm AI and am pleased with it. If you push it, the 6mm Ackley should outdo the 243 Ackley, but they are pretty similar. Make sure you get a 1-10" twist to stabilize the big Bergers. The 6mm AI is said to have longer throat life since the neck is longer. Both shoot wonderfully flat for a long ways with little recoil.
