On 1 September 1965, No. 2433 (Ramsgate) Squadron was formed at the airport before moving to RAF Manston within a year. The Sqn has been a proud resident of RAF Manston ever since, enjoying the support of the Royal Air Force and now Ministry of Defence and in turn, playing an important part in the life of the unit, supporting activities and events.

2433 (Ramsgate & Manston) Squadron was proud to celebrate its 50th anniversary during 2015. Having been formed on 1 September 1965, the Squadron commemorated this important milestone in a number of ways. The Squadron now looks forward to 2016 which offers two further, significant anniversaries.
