Every year, a small number of .25-08 custom rifles are built for keen reloaders, the cartridge being favored for its versatile performance on varmints through to medium game. The .25-08 fits a fairly unique niche. For those who don’t hunt varmints, the .25-08 offers very little over existing commercial cartridges.

2016年3月13日 · I have a 25 souper, and it is definitely a wicked little cartridge. To answer your question. The 243 has the same action and bolt face as a 308, and as such is a great candidate for the 25 souper as you only need to re barrel. The main advantage is the short action. The 25 souper is equivalent to the 257 Roberts, it will not equal the 25-06.

2008年6月3日 · The .25-08 has much more case capacity than the .250 Savage does - 18% more in fact. A .25-08 obtains notably higher velocities than the .250 Savage does when loaded to the same pressures - it cannot be otherwise.

2009年8月5日 · Jay: it's an old wildcat generally called the 25 Souper. Should be a fine little cartridge, but it, IMO, is so close to the 250 Savage on one side and the 257Roberts on the other, that it has never been very popular. Might try in the Custom Rifles & Wildcats forum.
