2018年10月29日 · First off, I know that 25-06 is on the small end for elk. I know a lot of people advise not shooting anything smaller than a 300 win mag at Elk. I'm well aware of the limitations of using a 25-06 for elk. However, I do know that a lot of people have harvested elk with a 25-06.

2019年7月22日 · Retumbo as mentioned above can be a very good powder for the 25-06. I took an antelope at 375 yards with Retumbo and 110 Accubond. Was a very accurate combo in my rifle. Also like RL22 and 117 Gamekings. Old school stuff, but lots of folks shoot the 117 Gamekings in 25-06 with good results.

2021年9月20日 · The first animal I ran into when I shot a 25-06 was a pig about 100 pounds and the 120 gr Hornady Interlock put it on the ground. Back when I shot a 25-06 there were not much of a bullet selection but now with hammers and others I have changed my mind on the 25-06. If I run into a good deal on one I'll jump on it.

2012年12月18日 · The 25-06 is a wonderful hog cartridge and if you feel good about the "wood and steel" you've purchased, then good on you! I've killed literally hundreds of hogs with a 25-06 from 20yds to past 400yds with great results. Lately I've moved up to shooting long range hogs with a 300mag, but the 25-06 suits.

2012年12月16日 · The 25-06 and a .308 will each kill deer to 400 yards. The 25-06 has the advantage of a much flatter trajectory because of its' speed. With the flatter trajectory you can skip compensating for range out to 250+ yards on deer. The 308 has the advantage of match ammunition being available and the potential for throwing heavier bullets.

2021年10月28日 · 45 years ago, I got my first Rifle, a Ruger 77 in 25-06. Back then when I was raising 4 kids, money was tight. I chose the 25-06 because I could download with 75 gr bullets and shoot varmints or upload to 117 gr bullets and shoot deer.
