These loads do 1 to 1.25" 5 shots with reformed 22-250 brass. With 250 head stamped brass , either Rem. or Win., I get fliers.

2024年11月11日 · The 250 Savage is/was a good cartridge for deer a few decades ago, and it will still do the job. Two problems though: ammo is almost impossible to find and expensive, and there are lots of new cartridges that are cheaper and will do a better job.

2011年6月25日 · The 250 Savage cartridge may be the favorite of some. I am all for yours and my favorites. I can be nostalgic and admire some old 99 so chambered. The little 250 S is loaded to lower pressures than average and came with a slow 1-14" twist. Its body taper is three times what it needs to be to be best. Overall its just a bygone product.

2017年11月20日 · The .250 Savage was and is a great little round for whitetail. I had a beautiful deluxe grade model 99 that I still regret letting go of many years ago. The bullets back in the day tended to come apart at the fast velocity of the little savage.

2010年8月2日 · Haven't been lucky enough to get a shot at a deer yet with the 250 Savage, but have taken antelope. The 87gr Speer Hot Core worked beautifully, wouldn't hesitate to use it on deer. Did hunt with a 250 this last fall trying for a doe or two, just no luck. BobinNH, keep an eye out for those Savage 1920's.
