2017年12月20日 · Jerry Shannon, a well known gunsmith in the Seattle area decided to play around with the 6mm-06 cartridge, changing the shoulder angles and bullet depth, looking to squeeze more velocity while maintaining the pressure levels. What he created was the .263 Sabre. The .263 Sabre differed from the 6mm-'06 and the .256 Newton in the shoulder.

Today Experts know the .35 Degree shoulder is Superior to the 40 as it improves Feeding and the primary reason behind the 40 is only to improve capacity.

The .263 Sabre is based on the full length '06 brass with relatively the same body taper as the original cartridge but designed with a sharp 35 degree shoulder for a more positive headspace adjustment.

2023年3月4日 · Those of us with old enough memories, and old Speer reloading manuals, know that .263" was Speer's standard diameter for 6.5mm bullets for a long time. I don't remember the year they 'came around' to the .264" diameter, but I don't see the difference as being an 'issue' for any practical reloading application.
