I've got a Sako 270 win standard action and I will probably try the AI which would only require rechambering to achieve almost the same ballistics improvement. Less money and I can use my 270 win cases.

2014年8月5日 · Let me assure you from experience, a 270 winchester will NOT last anywhere close to 3000. My only 270 win barrel got me less than 1100 rounds on a CM factory barrel waiting 3 min between each shot and 5 min minimum between groups. It was a hunting rifle so that did last me a few years of range, load development, practice and field rounds.

2016年3月17日 · I have a Tikka factory superlight SS .270 Win barrel with about 2,000 rounds on it. It's beginning to shoot fliers that impact about an inch away from the rest of the group. I'm wondering if this is the barrel going south or something else.

2012年5月3日 · Just for comparison Hodgdon's manual list data for the T/C Encore pistol 15" barrel in 270 Winchester. It list max velocities with 130 gr bullets between 2600 and 2700 fps and with 150 gr bullets 2420 to 2472 fps and the best velocity is still with slow burning powders H-414, H4350, H4831 and H1000.

2020年11月3日 · Yah, the 270 Win. is a good caliber for deer but I prefer either the 130 Sierra Game King or Nosler Ballistic tip with 60 grs H4831, Rem case. CCI BR-2. This load is MAX but it has shot in every 270 Win I have ever come across.

2012年8月24日 · I loaded the 130s @ 3.35 COAL w/H380 in .5gr increments from 48-50grs. This is in once fire FL sized R-P brass with CCI 200 primers. My brass trimming wasn't the best and ranged from 2.537-2.54 ( I found the 270 adapter for my good trimmer after I finished ). My expected velocities were 2800-2900. Actual velocities were 2815-2918.

2007年3月25日 · Steve, I can't say if the SF powder will work or not in the .270. I asked the same question about SF in a .260 and got less than favorable results. Well I am not one to be deterred so I went on with it and found it to be extremely accurate and the velocity would blow your mind. If you can find some sort of reference to your .270,go for it.

2008年10月4日 · PS: Whoever said 4831 is the powder for the 270 Win either passed away before more powders were available or should be locked up! 60 grains of the stuff would break 2900 fps by much, if any, out of a 24" bbl.
