Created in 1939, the low-power, low-cost Citroën 2CV was a staple of French life. “A glorious little car” according to the film’s director John Glen, “it’s what French farmers used to drive across ploughed fields.” The 2CV was powered by a 602cc flat-twin engine mustering around 33bhp.

The Citroën 2CV6 is an air-cooled front-engine, front-wheel-drive economy car produced by French automobile manufacturer Citroën. The 2CV6 is prominently featured in the 1981 James Bond film For Your Eyes Only as James Bond 's makeshift escape vehicle. A purple-hued version also appeared in Marvel Comics ' accompanying adaptation of the film.
