Will a 4.01 GPA Make a Big Difference in College Applications?
2012年5月24日 · Are you talking about a weighted GPA? My high school gave a 5.0 for every A in an Honors class and a 6.0 for an A in an AP class, so there were a lot of people with GPAs above 4.0, and a few who managed to pass 5.0. I think that the difference between a 3.98 and a 4.01 is probably pretty trivial. Grades are only one aspect of admission anyway.

How hard it is to achieve 3.7+ GPA? - Physics Forums
2013年1月9日 · Nah, my GPA is a 3.5 because of low grades in hard classes (I took general topology, abstract algebra, and real analysis freshman year and got a lot of B's). So we're in a similar boat. I'm impressed at that acceptance list, I thought those schools would have an army of 4.0 honors students from top schools with similar courseloads but perhaps I ...

2010年7月8日 · 1. I'll probably have a 3.58 gpa upon application submission, definitely not in the league of those 3.9s. 2. I have no past results in any mathematics individual problem solving competitions, that is the Putnam. 3. I'm not sure whether the admissions committee will buy taking higher level classes to cover the weaker lower level ones.

Average GPA for Engineering Freshman in College? - Physics Forums
2012年4月20日 · A 3.1 is VERY GOOD. This is good enough for Dean's List! Of course, it would be better for it to be higher, but that is true of any GPA less than 4.0. Also, I think it takes a 3.55 to graduate with Highest Honor, (I think a 3.15 is With Honor) so this might be a goal of yours.

After Graduation (2.8 GPA) Math Degree, What to expect?
2013年5月6日 · Once you have the job, the GPA doesn't matter anymore, but the skills you have matter. If they hire you based on a nice GPA, but find out that you're not able to do the job, then you won't have the job for long. Or at the very least, you're going to struggle very hard the first months/years. So I completely agree that GPA is extremely important.
Any tips for getting GPA over 3.7 in grad school? - Physics Forums
2022年1月7日 · Earning a 3.7+ GPA is highly desirable for me because my undergraduate GPA was awful < 3.0, and I've had employers ask me for my transcripts before even after 2 years of full-time experience beyond the many technical internships and achievements. I'm hoping that a competitive graduate GPA will outshine my less desirable one.
What Are the Acceptance Rates for REU Programs and How Many …
2012年1月20日 · Cornell - Accept 3-17 Chicago - Reject 3-30 Stonybrook, Washington, FSU - no reply I realize this is not comprehensive by any means but hopefully it helps a little. I would suggest applying to many programs (but don't let it negatively affect coursework). The students I met at these programs had 3.7+ gpa and often some sort of research experience.
