In fact the 320i and the 328i share the exact same part numbers for a majority of the engine components. Shared engine components between F30 320i and 328i. 2016年3月16日 · The only difference between 320i Map 5 at 17psi and 328i stock at 17psi (and the reason the 320i makes more power with Map 5 than stock 328) is because of higher compression pistons! This is why higher octane and better intake cooling is advisable! However, exhaust, intake, and downpipes are not necessary!

2016年3月16日 · As fro 320i versus 328i, both have the same DNA's(e.g. chassis, turbo, base suspension). The 320i has a detuned N20 engine plus components that match with that HP/lb-ft, so if the intent is to tune 320i to 328i performance level, the "standard" components can be stressed above factory specs.

2012年9月4日 · Since the torque specs on both are similar(at least for 8AT), so maybe the difference is to taper the engine rev on 320i N20 at 5000rpm to throttle at 181hp, but allows 328i N20 to keep pushing to 6000rpm and 240hp. I guess we would see dyno charts soon enough on this. For now, 328i does appear to be a $2k-3k(expensive) factory tune versus 320i.

2023年9月17日 · Hello, im currently in the market for a BMW 3 series and was wondering the performance differences between the 320i and 328i. Where I live I can get a 320i with 10-20k less miles for about $2/3k cheaper than a 328i. I did notice though that no 320i's near me were equipped with paddle shifters and that's something that I would like to have.

2015年9月15日 · The higher compression of the 320i engine limits its tuning ceiling vs. the 328i, but as stated earlier in this thread, the 320i has smaller diameter propshaft/half-shafts so any hard launching on a heavily-tuned 320i would probably toast the drivetrain before the engine anyway.

2017年10月25日 · As fate would have it I had my 2014 328i in the shop twice during the last two weeks, and I got to drive two different loaners back-to-back. The first was a 320i, and second is (still driving it after two days) a brand new 430i Gran Coupe with 200 miles on it. Just thought you might want to know what I think. The 320i was rather surprising.

The power delivery tune that BMW did was straight evil and it makes the car not feel like a BMW at all. 328i is exactly what you would want in a sporty sedan - its power matches the chassis ...
