In late 2023, the Community Access National network (CANN) launched "340B What About Me?" to highlight how patients are exploited by bad actors within the 340B Drug Discount Program. As part of the campaign, CANN just released a video featuring real patients asking why hospitals and other entities are benefiting from 340B, but not them.

As others have stated, the 340B covered entities are hospitals or clinics that meet certain criteria and are registered with HRSA.

The 340B Program enables covered entities to stretch scarce federal resources as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services. Prepare for program audits. Maintain auditable records documenting compliance with 340B Program requirements. Manufacturers or the federal government may audit covered entities. Any covered entity that does not comply with 340B Program requirements may be liable to manufacturers for refunds of the discounts obtained.

340B Matters advocates for patients over profits. We seek to protect the lifesaving 340B Drug Discount Program, so this critical legislation can keep doing what it was intended to do: ensuring EVERYONE has access to affordable health care.
