3.31 vs. 3.55 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
2021年10月13日 · 3.55 will keep the RPMs slightly higher at the same speed compared to the 3.31. So, not a lot of difference, maybe 200-300RPM. But, when travelling at speed with a load, that may be the difference between driving in 9th gear, and driving in 8th gear. The easiest way to think of it is, the higher the number, the quicker you will have torque to pull.

2024年2月8日 · the 3.15 will be better for daily stuff and fuel economy, but getting the 3.55 gives you more future options. ones like putting a Torsen diff (a better limited-slip diff than the standard clutch pack type) in it, changing the gears for 3.73 or 4.09 or stuff like that. the 3.55 also has better acceleration. attached is a chart i made a while ago ...
3.31 vs 3.55 driving me nuts | Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum
2020年10月16日 · I'd recommend going with the 3.55 ratio for slightly better performance when towing, and also for slightly better resale value, since odds are the next owner will probably tow more, and therefore prefer the 3.55 over the 3.31.
