2020年5月13日 · The 35 Whelen built it's reputation with 250gr. bullets, and most feel that it is the best all around bullet weight for the 35 Whelen. Col. Whelen and Elmer Keith both liked 275gr. bullets in their 35's, but they did not have the bullets we do today. 225 an 250gr. bullets will be my main bullets, but want to try the 275's and see how they do.

2018年6月25日 · IMO the 35 Whelen and 250 grain NP is ideal for African PG and Mr Spots. As far as long range shooting goes, on my last safari our PH's wanted to have a shooting contest out to 300 yards, they used a 270 and a 243 I used my Whelen.

2019年5月25日 · The recoil of a 35 Whelen is noticeably more than a 270 IME. I’d suggest you let her try a loner if you can find one. 2015年12月17日 · Rick, over time you will come to appreciate your 35 Whelen more and more. The 250 Gn. Hot Cores have been considered good bear "medicine" for many years. My sons and I took three 35 Whelen(s) to Africa and used them with great success. One son used 250 Gn. Nosler Partitions, the other used 225 Gn. Nosler Accubonds and I used 225 Gn. Barnes TSX.

2000年12月29日 · While I haven't shot any moose with the 35 Whelen yet,but I have shot a cow elk with my T/C Encore 15" 35 Whelen handgun,using a handloaded Hornady 250gr. round nose at 2100fps. The shot was behind the front shoulder. She went down in a hurry. I personally think it would go through both shoulders with no problem.

I like the 250 Partition in my Whelen... it is the middle rifle in the picture, it was a Ruger M77 Mark II Express in .30/06, but rebored and rechamber to .35 Whelen.
