2023年9月8日 · My .36 is a Uberti 1862 pocket so that my have something to do with it. It is lighter and a pleasure to shoot (when it is not cap jamming!). My .44s are all Remingtons and "horse pistols" compared to the pocket Navy.

2020年1月2日 · There is a large difference in performance, as when loaded to normal capacity, the .44 is nearly twice as powerful as a .36. Both can achieve similar velocities, but the .44 ball (.454 or so) is twice as heavy. For shooting varmints and plinking .36 will suffice. My 1851 Navy in .36 is my favorite revolver.

2018年6月3日 · The 1860 Army .44 has an 8 inch barrel, the 1851 Navy .36 has a 7 1/2 inch barrel. The Navy is hard enough to reholster quickly, particularly if you are using a high-riding slim Jim holster...the extra half inch on the 1860 is just that much harder.

The navy was made for close up deck battles where you are repelling boarders, the Army needed to pack a bigger punch to kill a Horse. Cavalry riding into infantry can be stopped by killing the horses.
