Pano2VR can remap equirectangulars to cube faces. Because the cube faces are rectilinear projections, they'll be a closer approximation to what a 2D viewer displays than the equirectangular gives. You can then edit the cube face(s) in any editor (like the Gimp), replace it/them, and map all six faces back out to an equirectangular.

Spherical panoramas have a 2:1 aspect ratio because the field-of-view is 360° x 180°. You obviously need enough photos to cover the whole surrounding. If you use stitching software, then you need to have some overlap between images and will take slightly more images than enough to cover exactly the 360°.

2015年8月20日 · Set the Lens type to Equirectangular and the HFOV to 360. This will load your 360x180 as a 360x180. Go into the GL preview window. Use the Move/Drag tab to change the viewpoint. Dragging horizontally changes yaw, dragging vertically changes pitch, right-dragging changes roll. Use the Projection tab to select a different projection.

Also, this question is not about 360 panoramas, so if the equirect-pano format is the way to go, how would you represent an image with a 60° span without just leaving most of it black?

So you need to get rid of that doing some kind of crop. The first aproach is using a "panorama viewer" where you can interactivly pan and tilt, inclusive zoom in and out.

2017年5月31日 · What you are missing is the type of projection used to create a 360 degree tour. The software you are using seems to be building a cylindrical projection and then unrolling it. In other words, it is blending the images together to remove seams along the sides, but it maps them on to a flat circular wall around the viewer.
