Evolution of High-energy Electron Distribution in Pulsar Wind …
2024年7月3日 · In this paper, we analyze the spectral energy distributions of 17 powerful (with a spin-down luminosity greater than 10 35 erg s −1) young (with an age less than 15,000 yr) pulsar wind nebulae (PWNe) using a simple time-independent one-zone emission model.
The PWN 3C 58 Associated to the energetic pulsar PSR J0205+6449 (Ė = 2.7x1037 erg/s, τchar = 5.4 kyr, P = 65.7 ms) Angular size : 6’ x 9’ Distance : 2 kpc Age : < 1 kyr ? Recent discovery of gamma-ray emission by : Fermi-LAT (Ackermann et al, 2013, Abdo et al, 2013)
Discovery of TeV γ -ray emission from the pulsar wind nebula 3C 58 …
The pulsar wind nebula (PWN) 3C 58 is one of the historical very high-energy (VHE; E >100 GeV) γ-ray source candidates. It is energized by one of the highest spin-down power pulsars known (5% of Crab pulsar) and it has been compared with the Crab nebula because of their morphological similarities.

emitting very high energy (VHE; > 1011 eV) gamma-rays are currently still unidentified. The ev. lution of Pulsar Wind Nebulae (PWNe) plays a crucial role in interpreting these sources. The time-dependent modeling of PWNe has been tested on a sample of well-known young and intermediate age P.

Discovery of TeV γ-ray emission from the pulsar wind nebula 3C 58 …
We detected VHE γ -ray emission from 3C 58 with a significance of 5.7σ and an integral flux of 0.65% C.U. above 1 TeV. According to our results, 3C 58 is the least luminous VHE γ -ray PWN ever detected at VHE and has the lowest flux at VHE to date.
