2017年1月25日 · Thanks for the clarification. Does a 2-gang box in the UK correspond to a 2-gang box in the US? A brief google seems to me that a 2-gang UK box is like roughly 1.5x a 1-gang box in width, and a 3-gang box roughly 2x a 2-gang box in width. Meanwhile in the US, a 2-gang box is 2x a 1-gang box in width and a 3-gang box is 3x a 1-gang box in width.

2018年1月12日 · @Harper the problem is not figuring out what wire power which light it's the wires beneath the box coming from the breaker. 2 out of the 3 carry power to the gang box while the 3rd does not. Initially I thought the 3rd wire was to carry the power back out the gang box and on to somewhere else that needed power.

2019年12月30日 · If you post the size of your box (usually marked in cubic inches inside the box) and a new diagram once you've removed the two left-most devices, we can confirm whether your box is filled or over-filled. At first glance, what you've got seems pretty tight (i.e., likely over-filled according to code) with 4 devices.

However there are a number of large 4-gang switch boxes and I'm not sure what to do about the many wires which are brought together in a wire nut. In one switch there are 5 NM power lines coming in, and the neutrals are brought together. But there are 5 wires, isn't the maximum for a red wire nut 4 wires at 12 gauge?

I have a 4 gang metal electrical box with a receptacle, a fan switch, a light switch and a timer for a towel warmer. The honeywell timer does not require to be grounded. For the receptacle i would loop the ground wire from the "cable from source" around the screw in the box and then connect it to the receptacle.

2021年12月18日 · One cable going out for each switch = 4 cables; One cable going on to the next location; That would be 6 black hot/switched hot and 6 white/neutral, as follows for "dumb" switches: Incoming hot pigtailed to hot wires for all 4 switches and the outgoing hot. Alternatively could be daisy-chained between the switches. All white neutrals together.

If you want to remove the switch because its just irritating you can use a switch blank shown below: These can be found in most big box hardware stores and online. They come in different colors and can be found in decora style also. Good luck.

2023年11月27日 · I am trying to replace a 4-gang standard switches with Kasa smart switches. How do I connect all the neutral white wires from the switches to the white neutral bundles in the box? There are too many wires to fit within one cap. Do I split into two or three caps and make sure all these white wires are internpconnected.

2021年9月18日 · So the biggest issue here is the heater. Most 4 gang don' support more than 10A. There's no way the other 3 things are going to exceed 10a. The heater could draw 12.5a or 1500w on its own, but I don't know the actual rating. I found plenty of 4 gang switches, but the ones I have come across all share a single hot wire.
