Case hardening of 42CrMo ... by mistake - Eng-Tips
2007年8月8日 · I have a part from a non-domestic source that is being fabricated from 42CrMo in lieu of 4140. We recently discovered that the parts were being case hardened instead of thru-hardened. The core ran around 42 Rc, within specification, but there was a .009" thick case that was around 60 Rc when no...
What is the difference between 42CrMo steel and 42CrMo4 steel
2021年1月12日 · 42CrMo grade is from China GB/T 3077 standard steel material. It is a medium carbon alloy structural steel with good mechanical properties, good hardenability and wide application. In the machinery industry, 42CrMo alloy is often used to manufacture gears, connecting rods, high strength bolts...
China 42CrMo vs ASTM 4140/4142 - Metal and Metallurgy …
2002年2月22日 · We are in the process of sourcing machined parts in China and need to know whether the Chinese material specification GB/T3077 for their 42CrMo is equivalent to our ASTM/AISI 4140 and 4142 (we use both interchangeably). The obvious metallurgical difference is that 4140/4140 have trace...
Wohler /SN curve for 42CrMo4 steel - Eng-Tips
2005年1月26日 · Hi, I want to do some fatigue calculations on a structure. Does anyone know where I can find a Wohler or SN curve for the material 42CrMo4 in the Q+T condition? I have done some google searches but nothing comes up. Any help would be appreciated.
Through hardening 42CrMo4. - Gear & Pulley engineering - Eng-Tips
2006年11月7日 · The induction hardening range is certainly reasonable for that material. Just curious what the core hardness of this material is? What depth of hardness to the 50Rc case depth or 48Rc case depth if it is European. Get your slewing ring provider to answer the contact and bending stress questions. I assume this a slow rpm application.
42CrMoV forgings - welding variables - Eng-Tips
2024年8月13日 · Are you requesting for information about 42CrMoV or 42CrMo4V? As long as I know, AISI 4140 is 42CrMo and there is no vanadium addition. I do have some technical literature on welding 42CrMo, but they all focus on welding specifications for dissimilar materials. Take AISI 4140 + S235JR dissimilar welding for example. The literature states: Minimum preheat temp.: 300°C Inter-pass temperature ...
K18, what is this material? - Steel and Stainless engineering
2008年2月15日 · Hi to all! I have a part from a turbine that I have to weld. I called the factory and they told me that it was made from K18. Its a kind of stainless steel, I need to know the chemical composition and the pre/post weld process to weld it. Hope somebody knows the equivalent in ASTM, AWS, etc...
