2021年5月15日 · Over the winter, I made up a bunch of 44 Automag cases. I found the case forming dies on Gunbroker, pretty reasonable. When RCBS was still making them, they cost well over $300. You can use about any donor case, with the .308 head size. I cleaned out most of my dumpster diving range brass, .243, 7-08, .270, etc, along with .308 and 30-06.

2013年10月26日 · Grumpy, I have 2 Pasadena Model 180 44 AutoMag pistols, one is unfired and one is my shooter. I use Winchester 296 powder, large pistol primers, Nosler 240 grain JHP bullets and new Starline 44 AMP brass. The load that works the best in my shooter is 19.5 grains of powder with the above components. The AMP is a finicky pistol.

2014年6月7日 · That's a big part of it - the pistol just looked awesome. Not like a 1911 or desert Eagle - sort of like a Luger on growth hormones. Before 'Dirty Harry' in 'Sudden Impact' and long before I started to own guns, There was a .44 Automag on display along with some other guns in White's Truck Stop at the junction of I-81 and I-64 in VA.

2021年7月4日 · I am thinking that one would likely want a very hot powder for use in such a gun as a .44 Automag. The mass of that slide has to be pretty significant. The faster that you can overcome the inertia of the slide lock on that gun the better off that you will likely be. If it were a blow back action or a revolver it might be different, but it is not.

2007年10月5日 · No, according to AMC (Automag Corp.) that is the standard ammo, they stopped making it because it was too expensive, same reason they stopped making the guns in the 80's, now if your lucky to fine an Automag in working condition, you would have to make the ammo yourself, many different companies made automags for different callibers and quality but I am refering to the original guns made the ...

2014年6月15日 · When Bob left AutoMag he went to work for Rocketdyne designing rocket motors for ballistic missiles and space travel. What a great guy! His mind is sharp as a tack and he is certainly one of the most intelligent engineers I have had the pleasure of knowing. We hope to work together on a gas operated AutoMag design in the future.

2018年6月13日 · Talk about guns you wish you hadn't sold. At least sold when you did. I bought my 44 automag in the early mid 70's for $175 brand new in the box at a local gun store. Of course, prices were a bit different back then. I bought 2 brand new Ruger Bearcats with the lightweight frames about the same time as the automag for $39 each.
