The LNER Class A4 is a class of streamlined 4-6-2 steam locomotives designed by Nigel Gresley for the London and North Eastern Railway in 1935. Their streamlined design gave them high-speed capability as well as making them instantly recognisable, and one of the class, 4468 Mallard, holds the record as the world's fastest steam locomotive.

2025年3月3日 · Fresh from its rebuilt, Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific GP9R #4484 made a visit to Memphis, TN, in its bright read and yellow paint scheme. Built by EMD in May of 1957 as CRIP GP9 #1318, After the collapse of Rock Island, this loco moved over to first the CNW roster and then onto the MRL roster.

4484 Falcon entered service with LNER in January of 1937, following the broad early naming format based around Gresley’s penchant for birds.
