Welcome to the website for the 45eme Infanterie Regiment de Ligne. We are a French Infantry reenactment group, based in the UK, portraying the lives of soldiers, NCOs, Officers and their ladies together with camp followers, including Cantinieres and Vivandieres, during the height of Empire (1805-1809) within the Napoleonic Wars.

The 45eme Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne was originally created in 1643 as the Regiment de la Reine-Mere. It was part of the Armee d'Italie in 1792-94 and formed part of the l'Interieure and de Reserve during the period 1795-99.

Roles 45eme
A basic understanding of French is helpful, although not essential. Drill sessions and battlefield commands are communicated in French and the basics are reasonably easy to learn. After basic training you might prefer to take on the role of a voltigeur or grenadier.
