Philosophy For Children (P4C) does not refer to teaching children traditional philosophy, rather, it is a pedagogic approach developed by Mat Lipman that centres on teaching thinking skills and the ability to question and reason. It is a student-led, enquiry based approach to learning.

What is P4C? P4C (Philosophy for Children, Colleges and Communities) is an approach to teaching and learning that explores the big ideas that arise in all areas of education and life experience. P4C uses philosophical dialogue and enquiry to help learners to think, to speak, to listen, to learn and to live together more effectively.

We need the 4Cs, sentence stems and Rules of P4C/code of conduct (given to class teacher and or on the shared drive) displayed somewhere in class. Displays are necessary to expose the language to the children.
