The BMW N63 is a twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine which has been in production from 2008 to present. The N63 is the world's first production car engine to use a "hot-vee" layout, with the turbochargers located inside the "V" of the engine.

The engine is a 4.4 L (4,414 cc) aluminum DOHC V8 which produces 315 PS (232 kW; 311 hp) and 440 N⋅m (325 lb⋅ft). It has a 60 degree cylinder bank. The engine block and heads are cast from aluminium reducing its weight to a comparatively light 418 lb (190 kg).

It was a 4.6-liter, 90-degree V-angle, eight-cylinder gasoline engine with two valves per cylinder and SOHC design. Later, this engine became the base V8 in the Mustang GT. Ford has also produced a 4-valve DOHC version well known for SVT Cobra and Mach 1 applications.

2023年7月18日 · The 4.4L and 4.2L engines are port injection engines, not direct injection, they only have a low pressure fuel pump in the fuel tank. They were no longer available following the 2009 model year. These engines are considered by many as the better engines, less maintenance, cheaper to work on, and just seem to run forever.
