The 5.6×50mm Magnum (designated as the 5,6 × 50 Mag. by the C.I.P. [2]) is a centerfire, rimless, bottlenecked rifle cartridge that was developed in 1970 by Günter Frères of the Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM).

The 5.6x50R is a rimmed version of the same cartridge. Both use standard .224" (5.56mm) diameter bullets, and loads for both are identical. Information about European loads is, naturally, expressed in European standards of measurement.

2012年6月28日 · Hey guys, I just picked up a combo gun in 5.6x50R mag. I was wondering if anyone has worked up good loads for this caliber and/or have any powder recommendations. I’ve already purchased an RCBS die set, and will have some brass as soon as I shoot a few boxes of Prvi factory loads.

The 5.6x50R Mag uses a .22 caliber bullet and has a case length of 50mm (1.969 inches). It is loaded to produce muzzle velocities of around 2,800 feet per second and can deliver muzzle energies of around 1,300 foot-pounds.
