2023年3月18日 · Each is more of a headquarters than a huge formation. So each division CONUS has a battalion with two subordinate detachments. CONUS there are two contracting brigades that these battalion fall under. OCONUS is kind of a mixed bag of if a brigade has battalions under it (it's due to big army numbers). 51C is a good MOS, tons of opportunities.

2022年2月24日 · Stumbled upon this as a NG NCO after never knowing the MOS existed. Was already a civilian 1102 (civilian equivalent of 51C) and literally had to submit the certifications I got on civilian side and was able to reclass without any additional training, promote to E6 without ALC (since I already had DAWIA III), and get to bring my civilian experience to the NG.

Edit2: here’s what a 51C is for those curious: Noncommissioned officers (NCOs) with the 51C MOS perform the vital tasks of providing procurement support for anything a unit might need and serving the commander as a business adviser, ensuring they get what’s needed, on time, to support the mission.

2023年10月2日 · In my previous MOS, I’ve always looked out for the Soldiers first. When I switched over to 51C, it was a bit of a bummer that I no longer had an opportunity to mentor Junior Enlisted and Junior NCOs in my career field. That fulfillment now comes from seeing your contracts come to life.

They’ll give you the honest lowdown on deployments, promotion rates, etc. biggest sell right now is that when you get out of the Army you’ll have same certifications as the civilian GS 1102s and can land gS13 or other 6 figure private sector jobs fairly easily.

2023年7月27日 · Look at the list and find someone who had your MOS or close who were picked up, email them and ask them what they believe is the reason they were chosen, what jobs or extra duties should you take on that would help. If they can send you some examples of what their packet looked like. (I did this, and it made me a little less worried).
