2011年10月5日 · Since the 558 is compressed into a 16-pin package, the discharge and threshold pins of each timer (pins 7 and 6, respectively) are tied together. This is fine for the monostable timers I need, but prevents me from using one of the timers as an astable.

2010年1月25日 · I have read that this sort of thing can be done with 4 555 timers, 2 556 timers, or a 558 timer. I have several 555's and lots of resistors and capacitors available, so if i dont need to buy anything i would rather not. I would like the timer to run off the 12V DC battery if possible. Thanks alot for the help.

2003年12月6日 · I'm also posting a simplified circuit in response to a PM from Jules. This topic has come up before, in the hay baler thread for example. I also suggested chained monostables to generate the delays (using the quad 558 timer, for ex.), but thought a sequence generator based on a CD4017 (or 4022) might be simpler :wink:. Maybe not.
