The 56 FSS provides full array of mission support products and services. Areas of responsibility include military personnel, civilian personnel, education services, Family Support Center, Airman Leadership School, and First Term Airman Center.

Serves as the 56th FW mortuary office and provides all food and lodging support for Air Force aircraft search and recovery operations in the Arizona region.
