The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti (Type F137) (Italian pronunciation: [skaʎˈʎetti]) is an executive 2+2 coupé grand tourer made by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari between 2004 and 2011. It was designed to replace the smaller 456; its larger size makes it a true 4-seater with adequate space in the rear seats for adults.

Created for Peter Kalikow, Chairman of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Kappa (K) is a specially modified 612 built by the capable hands at Pininfarina. Compared the regular model, this supercar has numerous special features that not only add functionality but give it a more aggressive stance.

2024年8月4日 · 612 KAPPA. In April 2006 Pininfarina unveiled the uniquely customised 612 Kappa based on chassis 145746. Subsequently displayed at the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance which took place one week later, the 612 Kappa was a commission executed by Pininfarina on behalf of renowned Ferrari collector, Peter Kalikow.

The American's collector's Ferraris all sport a license plate starting with a 'K', so he simply named the car 'Kappa'; the Greek name for the letter 'K'. The clearest new design element inspired by the classic Ferraris is the scoop in the engine cover, which is lined with polished aluminium.

The 612 Kappa, however, was a different story. That car was built through Pininfarina (PF) with minimal input from Ferrari. Pininfarina approached my father about creating a unique model, and being a fan of front-engine GTs, he chose the 612 as the base.
