2022年5月22日 · The passing grade for 3 years of typing was 120 wpm, no mistakes. For my first year it was 80 wpm, 5 mistakes in about a minute of typing. Only took one year. It is also worth nothing that typewriters have heavier, more slanted, keyboards, so 120wpm was harder to achieve. (And line breaks involve moving the whole mechanism over!)

2021年3月13日 · 62 is a fine score when you tested it for the first time :) But do not stress too much over the WPM score. Your accuracy is more important, also in terms of speed. 96% is already good. Try to get and stay close to 100, the WPM score will follow automatically :)

For office work in 2021 I think you could get by with 60 wpm. That would not be your personal best. That would be your average speed over the long term. That might sound low but it comes with conditions. You never have less than 96% accuracy. You can maintain that 60 wpm average speed for a minimum of 5 minutes without stopping.

2022年1月12日 · To get to 150 wpm, you'll need to start prioritizing specialized training over simple speed/accuracy drills. For example, take the simple prefix like "to" for things like toward, together, etc. Practicing that two letter combo to the point where you can strike it nearly instantly is the kind of practice that would help.

2017年9月1日 · My speed now is about 62 wpm on regular text (in multicompetition mode). A few tips: Don't rush: You can observe that when you are in a rush to type more quickly even the first attempt may be faster than regular, thereafter your speed starts to decline.

2023年12月13日 · Over the first two months, I improved from say 93% accuracy and ~62 wpm to where I am now. For the last month my accuracy hovers between 98+% (when I type for accuracy) and say 96% (when I try to go a bit faster) and my wpm is around 68. I have tried to go faster, but accuracy goes down.
