The -ton, 4×4, Kaiser Jeep M715, sometimes called the "Five quarter (ton)", for its (or ) ton payload rating, is an American light military truck, based on the civilian Jeep Gladiator (SJ). Design and development for the M715 began in 1965, intended to replace the Dodge M37.

2023年1月18日 · In 1965, Kaiser Jeep designed and developed the M715 1 1/4 ton series truck, which was purchased by the U.S. military to replace the M37. In many ways this was the first U.S. military tactical truck to be built with mostly off-the-shelf civilian components since before WWII.

2005年7月4日 · The Kaiser Jeep M715 is a 1 ¼ ton military vehicle based upon the civilian model truck known as the Jeep Gladiator. In 1965 Kaiser Jeep Corporation started the design and developing for the M715. The U.S. Government purchased these trucks to replace the expensive Dodge ¾ ton weapons carrier cargo truck known as the M37.

Between January, 1967 and May, 1969, over 30,500 M-715 series trucks were produced for the U.S. military. The initial contract purchase price was $4,400 per truck. These trucks were rated at 1 1/4 ton and used the military version of the "Tornado" 230 I6 engine. This engine had few parts that swapped with the civilian version.

This 1967 Kaiser-Jeep M715 1¼-ton truck is finished in olive drab over tan canvas upholstery, and power is supplied by a 230.5ci inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include a canvas roof, a canvas bed cover, a brush guard, inward-facing rear bench seating, and a jerrycan and tools.
