The great thing about inverted tubes is that they don't require as many tubes, and don't use as much electricity that would heat up the room.

Usually an OTL amp with 10 x 6AS7 can have 4 removed, and in their place have an OPT installed to give far better Hi-Fi performance, more Po, and use far less power from mains, and run cooler. Such a drastic solution allows the OTL amp to become a normal transformer loaded PP or SE amp, using the same tubes, usually 6AS7 or 6C33c.

2025年3月16日 · got 2 pairs of well matched 'n nice looking 6AS7 (Svetlana "C" - NOS) last week... I've thought to build a lil headamp with one of the tubes. Any idea for a scheme?? The "Ahammer" and "van der Vaarde" schemes are on my HD already... I think i'll be able to go further with my stuff in the next weeks ... Tom.
