2014年2月28日 · After getting a pair of 1625 mono blocks made, went ahead and researched a suitable preamp to match the performance of the mono blocks. Settled on using a 6AH4 as a preamp tube. Currently, having one made that is basically the Thomas Meyer design, with the exception of using a stepped attenuator as opposed to the transformer volume control.

2014年7月10日 · Since output impedance is around 1.8K it should drive most amps. I use it as the input stage for my EL12n SE outputs and this gives you a very nice 2 stage amp. Simple to build and very good sound, which would see off the majority of SE tube amps. The parts are important - FT-2 teflon coupling caps and Kemet DC Link bypasses and last PSU cap.
