2018年2月23日 · I did PP 6LU8s in a Crowhurst Twin Coupled Amp. The result was 37W at clipping. IMD down 50 db at One db below clipping. All off the shelf parts. NFB can be switched on or off. Front end can be switched to Crowhurst's vers or full differential. But the DF was compromised, it really needs purpose built OPTs.

The 6CB6 is an amplifier valve designed to operate at 20 MHz and above. VHF television is one application. The internal construction shows the two inner grids close to the flat cathode and with their wires straight and parallel to the anode.

The amplifier design. This amp is a 2-stage push-pull pentode design. It puts out just shy of 20 watts. The input /driver stage uses a pair of 6CB6 pentodes in a differential amp configuration, using a silicon CCS in the tail.

2017年6月6日 · I'm looking at building the RCA 50 Watt Amplifier, it uses two 6CB6s, was wondering if the 6C9 would be a good sub. One tube instead of two. The major difference I see is the plate resistance. In the vast majority of audio amplifiers (RC coupled), pentodes are extremely difficult to make them work perfect, I have some experience in this topic.

2017年12月1日 · I pulled the 6CB6 front end tubes and substituted 6GU5's, which Pete recommends for more gain. Recall from above that with the 6CB6 front end, I didn't have enough output from my audio generator (1.5 VRMS max) to drive the amp to full output.

2013年10月11日 · The smoking-amp's pentode curve for 6cb6 is compared to Mazda's, but they are plots for Vg2 equal to 130v and 125v, respectively and different Vg steps, still, it is not very far from original (see Vg=0). The triode model traced very well and tight, CurveTracer will not generate it, if it's just slightly out as tolerance is low, IHMO.
