2021年6月19日 · I have built 6SN7 version of this driver but the gain is only about 6, so I add a front end gain stage of 6SN7 cascode. This EF86 driver has a gain of 60 so no gain stage is required. A small signal is taken from output connected to the base of LM317 CSS to balance driver the upper and lower tube.

2022年8月7日 · It's got Thordarson tube to line transformers as the outputs. Here's the current schematic as I recreated it, and the specs on the transformers I could find. I don't really have a deep enough understanding on the whole tube/transformer/load impedance to determine if this was a good (enough) design to keep and update or not.

2006年1月4日 · I know there are a few commercial designs out there using the 6SN7 for the gain and paralleled 6080's for the output (I believe that one of them uses an output transformer as well). I'd like to try it OTL first, and then maybe move on to investing in iron if the performance gains would be worth it.
